CO2 philic surfactants as foaming agent have the potential to overcome CO2 mobility issues. A study has been conducted to synthesize and evaluates the CO2 philic surfactants for the CO2 mobility control. The synthesis process was optimized. The foam durability experiments in the presence and absence of the crude oil were conducted. The mobility reduction factor was found 2.93. In addition, 93.25% oil recovery was achieved. It was observed that the CO2/water IFT appreciably decreased from 30 mN/m to 5.21 mN/m by using the surfactant in 0.5 % concentration. Results showed that CO2 philic surfactant significantly reduce the mobility of the injected CO2.
